Fauna in Focus is a new project, and we are growing and changing every day. We also try to keep high standards in terms of our staff rights and working conditions. While other businesses and organizations may take advantage of low wage standards (average salary is roughly $150 a month) we are trying to set a better example. We pay our local staff wages worthy of their efforts. Current Vacancies : Cleaner & Groundskeeper

 

POSITION: Cleaner & Groundskeeper

REPORTS TO: Center Manager

DURATION: 6 months beginning Jan 1st, 2019 - with possibility to extend to 12 months.

JOB SUMMARY: Fauna in Focus is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the role of Cleaner/Groundskeeper. This is a full-time position based at our Nature Discovery Center in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Primary responsibilities are to keep the center clean and operational for our students and visitors, including stocking and cleaning classrooms, visitor areas, bathrooms, offices, as well as upkeep of our orchid garden, model farm, and other outdoor activity stations.

JOB BENEFITS:

  • Starting salary is $200 USD per month. Fauna in Focus has a pay rise policy for long term personnel.

  • 30 paid annual leave and local holidays + 10 paid sick days per year are provided. Paternal/maternal leave is also provided.

  • Local staff are provided with emergency health coverage, staff training, and a safe and healthy working environment.

  • All work-related travel and supply costs will be covered by the project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Open and close the Nature Discovery Center each day.

  • Sweep nature trail, parking and upkeep all outdoor areas.

  • Water all plants, upkeep orchid garden and model farm.

  • Clean all signage and activities, check for damage.

  • Check, clean and restock all bathrooms.

  • Clean and tidy kitchen, sink, dishes and do laundry.

  • Sweep and mop classrooms, offices, and visitor areas.

  • Manage a simple equipment database and shopping list.

  • Shop for supplies and equipment as needed by the project.

  • Run daily security and safety checks.

  • Maintenance check for damage & repairs.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experienced in household upkeep and maintenance.

  • Experience in hospitality sector preferred.

  • Ability to work without direct supervision, follow clear instructions, and work to a high-standard is required.

  • Fluency in Khmer is required. Fluency or a basic level of English highly preferred.
